What’s with all these big ladies?

Last month Chicago unveiled “Forever Marilyn,” the 26-foot tall statue by Seward Johnson which depicts the actress’s legendary move. Eliciting outraged responses from many and lewd photographs from many more, Marilyn stands tall, with her skirt aflutter for the world to see.

Thousands of miles away, Hamburg, Germany has become entrenched in the same sort of controversy for its “Lady on the Lake,” which was the creation of Oliver Voss of the Miami Ad School.

Whereas incensed Germans only have to wait 10 days before their Lake Alster is returned to its placid serenity, Chicago residents have until the spring of 2012 to contemplate Marilyn’s finer moment from the Seven Year Itch.
